Birthday Card and Gift

https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/LinLovesPaper

I always handcraft my cards, and making a birthday card for a friend is one of my special loves. A while ago I had marbled lots of card offcuts from my paper stash and when they dried, I cut them into small cards.

It would have been pretty just the way it was, however, I wanted to take it to a new level. Enter the glorious work of my crafting friend. She hand-dyes vintage tablecloths and then cuts them out for embellishments. I just had to have some!!!! This colour of baby blue was the perfect match for my card. I have added a tiny dot of glue to affix the doily to the card and another dot for the bling in the middle. I have made two, so now will need to decide which one I think she might like and I will pop the other one in my Etsy shop.

I am thinking this can be a card and a gift for my friend..... it is quite easy to take the doily off and use it.

Marbled Test Tube Vase...

Marbled Test Tube Vase

Close up of vase

I saw this idea on Pinterest and was very keen to try it myself. A while ago I bought some lollies from a shop and they came in plastic test tubes. I was reluctant to throw the test tubes out as I knew I could do something with them. I had several attempts at this vase as I wanted to give my friend one for her birthday. The first one was a disaster!! This is the second one, which I have kept, and the third one was really lovely, so I gave it to her.

I have this hanging inside my front entrance and it encourages me to pick flowers from my garden. This flower is a rose-scented pelargonium and I have the test tube vase hanging at just the right height so you can smell the fragance as you walk past.

Number 5....

It is school holidays again here in Australia so that means craft time!!I had bought a wooden number 5 from the craft shop to affix near my front door. The plain wood was not going to stay! I gave it two coats of white paint and then did some paper patchwork using my pretty serviettes. The final thing was to give it two coats of Mod Podge for durability. Now when you come to my door, you will know that you are at number 5....

Garden Art Whimsy

For ages I have been wanting to create something whimsical for my garden. Pinterest has inspired me so much that today I finally decided to do something with my old light fitting and metal garden stake. I looked around in my craft room and found these gorgeous blue glass pebbles. I have now put it in my garden and was thinking it might be lovely as a birdbath.... just not too sure how the birds will perch on the rim. I'll fill it with water anyway......

My Front Porch

This morning, I took a couple of photos of my front porch. This is my favourite place to sit and have coffee, read a book and chat with friends who drop in.
